At the factory, each piano is preliminarily prepared and voiced to a high standard, with the understanding that the process can be further completed in the home by a qualified technician. In practice, not every piano owner receives this level of ongoing refinement, and as a result, not every instrument reaches its full expressive potential. When properly done, in-home voicing allows the technician to continue shaping the hammer tone to match the pianist’s unique touch, preferences, and artistic intent, resulting in a truly customized sound and a more personal connection with the instrument.

While every piano is carefully regulated at the factory to a high standard, those settings are intended as a foundation rather than a final artistic calibration. With use, climate, and time, subtle shifts occur in the action, and the instrument gradually drifts from its optimal responsiveness.
